My Backstory:
1. I was 14 years old. I knew I was not like other kids. My dad knew it too. While other kids were getting Xbox and PlayStation, I got two books: “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki & “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Andrew Carnegie! In High School I started working for a real estate brokerage, by my senior year I was making as much as my teachers. I distinctly remember Mr. John who knew me as a C student asking me "How much did you make last week"? I just laughed at his disbelief! At 19, I got my real estate license, My income went up from there!
2. I did go to college. But I didn't go from me. I did it out of respect for my parents! Personally I knew it was a giant waist of time. But it would make my parents proud! The one good thing that came out, aside from wasting 4 years of my life learning from instructors that didn't actually own a business, I met a guy that was a multi-family investor. He did ONE DEAL that made him $1m+ in Profit! I am not stupid. My next thought was... THAT! Is what I want to do.
3. 18 months later, at 23, I put together a $35m (170 Unit) apartment complex acquisition! Unfortunately, this deal never made it to the closing table. Even though we didn't close, I realized I enjoyed the "deal making" process WAY more than the agent work. This set me on my next adventure. Forever changing my life.
4. Next challenge: How do I find more of these deals? As a sales guy I went to work. Over the next 3 weeks, I had made 7000 cold calls. Contracted two deals. The problem was I was burned out. Trading time for money. Making phone calls 14-16 hours per day. I can hustle. And I'm good a it. But that's not a business. I wanted a business. This drove me to learn about leverage, tech, and automations. How can I automate this process?
5. After spending a small fortune and beating my head against the wall, hiring countless experts I finally arrived at the acquisition system I knew I needed. 150+ Automation. Sequence messaging. Detailed data tracking. In the first 10 days, I turned $1k test budget into $16k. With out needing to make 7,000 cold calls! I was off to the races!
6. Fast forward 18 months, I figured out what I really enjoy and what I really hate. I enjoy finding deals. I enjoy structuring deals. I enjoy everything about the sales and marketing side of things. What I don't like pretty much is everything that comes after signing the contract. I don't like acquiring the property. I don't managing flip crews. I don't like managing rental properties, etc.
7. The next 10 years. My mission is to build a thriving private equity firm! I'll focus on partnering with business and property owners who need a plan for the future, whether that means providing a succession plan or helping them grow their businesses and property portfolios. The ACS machine will help fund that journey!
